As a child this time of year was hands down my least favorite. No, not because of going back to school, but back to school shopping. UGH. Nothing made me cringe more than the drive out to the outlets, or the uniform store when I was in grade school, to pick out new clothes. Now, here I am years later facing the same challenge with my kiddos. So here’s my question:
How do you tackle back to school clothes shopping without breaking the bank?

Update: Since this posted on Sunday, the kind people of Kohl’s (I LOVE this store!) contacted me to tell me about a great back to school section on their website. Kohl’s Back to School section helps you get more for less!
Kohl’s also shared an exclusive 10% off code for kohls.com. You can use the code UBLOGTEN during the back to school season until October 24 and stack your savings with one other department specific code. Thank you Kohl’s!

Our girls are still young enough that I can buy a lot of things a year ahead of time, at the end-of-season clearance sales. I know I won’t be able to do that forever, as eventually they’ll want to shop for themselves, and their size might not be as predictable…but I feel like I save a lot of money doing that right now.

I buy throughout the year, and my mom always buys the kids clothes for their bday and xmas, so I don’t have to buy much at the beginning of the year. My oldest is just entering Kinder, and was in PreK last year. I did buy her a special first day of school outfit last year and for this upcoming school year. I really think if you buy throughout it helps offset the cost.
