You might feel like you have no idea what you are doing and thats ok, as long as you keep improving your parenting skills. These four tips can help the first-time parents feel confident about caring for a new born.

  1. Take shifts throughout the night. Split the night so that way each of you has guaranteed at least 4 hours of uninterrupted sleep.
  2. Do not take anything your spouse says to you in the first three months to heart. You are sleep deprived and on edge.
  3. Just because it worked for someone else does not mean it will work for you. Do not force anything because everyone else said it’s the right thing to do. You know your kids better than anyone else. Go with your gut.
  4. Take care of you. It is so hard to do this in those first few months, but honestly, it is so important.
