An Open Letter from Author Paris Morris

Thanks Amanda, for loaning me your Blog to write a quick note of thanks to the My Friend Paris fans.
It’s hard for me to believe that six years have gone by since I first started writing “I’m Having Twins”. When I told my dad that I wanted to write a book, I never imaged that it would grow into a series of seven books or that so many thousands of kids would be reading them.
I was just hoping that I could give the readers some enjoyment and a bit of 8-year-old wisdom.
While I did not expect to get anything in return, the love I have received from readers is a million times better than I could have imagined.
I always get a thrill when I come home from school and find pastel colored envelopes on the steps where my Dad leaves my mail. Those notes, which are from the cutest and most wonderful little girls, always leave me smiling.
All of the notes have three things in common:
I also get lots of letters from parents and grandparents letting me know that their child is newly energized to become reader or writer because “I want to be like Paris”. It makes me blush and I am thrilled to be a small part of helping kids learn to love reading.
My heartfelt thanks goes out to the fans of My Friend Paris; I appreciate all of their support.
Keep Having Fun!
Paris
