With summer upon us the last thing I want to do at lunch time, you know that time when the sun is at its peak, is heat up the oven or stove.  I’m a big believer in sandwiches and wraps in the summer, and my favorite meat and cheese from the deli is Boar’s Head. I recently found out that Boar’s Head launched a new line of bold flavors and I just had to try them.

The four new bold flavors are:

· Jerk Turkey Breast – Bite into Boar’s Head Jerk Turkey Breast and be transported to the Caribbean island of Jamaica. Inspired by the Jerk style cooking native to Jamaica, Jerk Turkey Breast features a sweet and spicy flavor derived from a robust blend of allspice, cinnamon, clove, habanero pepper, black pepper and onion.

· Chipotle Chicken Breast – Influenced by the Pacific peninsula of Baja, Mexico, Chipotle Chicken Breast reveals a smoky, aromatic blend of Chipotle peppers and habanero chili powder while releasing a mild heat reminiscent of the region. It adds the perfect amount of kick to any sandwich or panini.

· 3 Pepper Colby Jack – Infused with flavors from Brazil, 3 Pepper Colby Jack Cheese is crafted from a blend of three peppers: jalapeño, chipotle and habanero. Jalapeño adds intense flavor, chipotle creates a deep smokiness and habanero brings an extra smoky, spicy burn to every bite. This Bold cheese will leave a lasting impression on your taste buds that will make you come back for more.

· Chipotle Gouda – Chipotle Gouda Cheese is influenced by the port city of Veracruz, Mexico. It is a semi-sweet Gouda, mild and mellow, infused with just enough chipotle and jalapeño peppers for a unique savory, smoky flavor and medium heat. It’s the perfect taste to melt on top of your favorite sandwich or serve with crackers.

I was able to try all four and they were delicious! I love spicy and bold flavors, so these were perfect for me. My favorite though has to be the Chipotle Chicken Breast paired with the Chipotle Gouda. I know, a lot of chipotle, but seriously delicious. Even my son Aaron took a bite of that sandwich and was in love.

These meats and cheeses go beyond sandwiches though. Boar’s Head has a ton of recipes on their website that help you incorporate these into dishes like Mac and Cheese, Egg Rolls, and a Mango Salad. Yummy, right?
