The featured blogger of the week is Kristen of Caution! Twins at Play!  Kristen is the proud MoM of 16 year old Haley, 14 year old Cameron, 12 year old Mackenna and 4 year old twins, Graham and Parker.

What made you decide to start a blog?

I wanted to try something new and decided to try out blogging. I used to have an online message board and chat room website for Moms. I closed it down after 11 years in 2008 when I realized caring for my twins and running my website didn’t mix!

How did you three older children adjust to having twin siblings?

My older kids really did well adjusting to my twins,. The youngest of the older 3 was is eight years older than my twins. They were really helpful and enjoyed having my twins around!

What made you decide to homeschool your twins?

I never tried homeschooling my older three children and since I knew I was not having any more kids, I decided I really wanted to try out homeschooling when I started to learn about play based learning. I have been researching and learning about play based learning as well as Reggio, Montessori, and Waldorf. I have learned a lot in the past few years! It is going really well for us!

What are some resources you use when homeschooling?

I am in the Kid Blogger Network and they are a big part of my resource. I also have a few Montessori and Reggio books. I use Pinterest to find educational resources as well. I have taught myself so much in the past few years that I now have people coming to me asking for help on starting homeschool.

What are some of your favorite activities to do as a family?

We love going to the Orlando Science Center, Central Florida Zoo, and our back yard!! I have kind of created a wonderland in our yard, they really enjoy it, as do their friends.

What question, or questions, do you have for the other families in the community?

I would love to ask others what their favorite childrens books are for children ages 4-6. We love books and are always adding to our home library!
